Public Hanging No. 6
Carnival Spectacular – Section 1

Carnival Spectacular is Daniel Efram’s sixth solo show in a series lovingly and cheekily entitled “Public Hangings.” This carnival hints at the limits of the imagination and the will to succeed,
just as the performers in these works so elegantly achieve.

Informed by Arbus, Brassai, Man Ray, film noir and current events, Efram has been showing his work steadily since late 2014.

In addition to his still photography, Efram has been active as a multimedia filmmaker, collaborating with musicians for the debut of “Nouveau Noir,” an improvisational music meets abstract film event which debuted at New York’s Howl Art Gallery in July 2016.

As a curator, Efram has produced events at Shepard Subliminal Projects (Los Angeles), Howl Art (NYC), The Brooklyn Public Library and Dub Art (Brooklyn). His experimental films regularly join forces with still photography and music. He is currently working on a multimedia performance with choreographed aerialists set tentatively for October 2017 and a art collection book of visual artist Steve Keene set for a Holiday 2017 release.

Previously and currently a music and documentary film producer, you can find vinyl and digital releases under the Tractor Beam moniker.
